Perez Planning + Design, LLC (PP+D) was hired by the PATH Foundation to lead a multidisciplinary consultant team comprised of Kaizen Collaborative, Inc. and Toole Design Group to complete a feasibility study for the NW Atlanta Cycle Track and Multi-Use Trail that will extend from Northside Drive, NE south along Tech Parkway, Luckie Street, NE, Baker Street, NE and Centennial Olympic Drive and terminates near the CNN Center on Marietta Street, NE.
The project scope included completing traffic counts for the corridor and twelve intersections, a traffic impact analysis with a 2025 horizon year, and the development of conceptual design alternatives for the cycle track and multi-use trail. PP+D worked collaboratively with staff from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Coca-Cola Headquarters, City of Atlanta, and Centennial Olympic Park to develop proposed alternatives. These alternatives considered projected future traffic volumes, Georgia Institute of Technology campus expansion plans, the College's Recreation Activity Center's competitive athletic events, the Coca-Cola Company Headquarters traffic patterns, and Centennial Olympic Park design projects. The project study led to the Georgia Institute of Technology and the Coca-Cola Company pledging over $1 million towards the construction of the project and the initiation of construction documents for the project.
