Ivan Allen Multi-Purpose Trail Feasibility Study

The PATH Foundation hired Perez Planning + Design, LLC (PP+D) to complete a feasibility study and vision

for connecting PATH's proposed system of trails from Downtown Atlanta to the Westide of Atlanta. PP+D worked collaboratively with the PATH Foundation, Georgia World Congress Center Authority, The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, the Atlanta Falcons Stadium Design Team, the City of Atlanta, and Central Atlanta Progress/Atlanta Downtown Improvement District to identify various trail route alternatives. Through the process, stakeholders identified Allen Ivan Jr. Boulevard as the best route alternative. 

PP+D then worked collaboratively with stakeholders to develop a vision that retrofits existing infrastructure to create a high-quality bicycle and pedestrian facility along Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard. This high-quality bicycle and pedestrian facility will not only connect Downtown Atlanta to the west side but will also commemorate this great Atlanta Mayor with a memorial at the top of the Bridge.

The project study led to the Atlanta philanthropic community pledging over $2.5 million towards the construction of the project and the initiation of construction documents.
