ABOUT

Perez Planning + Design, LLC is a research based planning and design firm that lives at the intersection of people, space, and the built and natural environment. We focus on working collaboratively with our clients to thoughtfully and strategically integrate these key elements to plan, design, and implement a public realm that is viable, responsive, dynamic, and resilient. Stated simply, we work collaboratively with our clients in Re+Defining the Public Realm.

Perez Planning + Design, LLC was founded by Carlos F. Perez. Having completed over twenty comprehensive parks and open space system master plans, Mr. Perez has developed a specialty in public realm and park system planning and design. He has worked collaboratively with agencies nationwide to strategically and creatively leverage underutilized resources and spaces that respond to the needs and desires of residents and stakeholders to enhance the quality of life.

Prior to establishing Perez Planning + Design, LLC, Mr. Perez co-led AECOM’s (formally Glatting Jackson Kercher Anglin, Inc.) Parks + Open Space System Planning and Design practice. During his tenure at AECOM, Mr. Perez led or collaborated on a variety of significant projects including the Washington D.C. Parks and Recreation Master Plan; City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Master Plan in North Carolina; the Miami-Dade County Parks and Open Space System Vision in Florida; The City of Norfolk Parks, Recreation, and Open Space System Master Plan in Virginia; the Downtown San Diego Parks, Open Space, and Recreation Needs Assessment in California; the PATH 400 Trail and Greenspace System in Atlanta, GA; and the Re-Visioning of Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mr. Perez has a Masters in City and Regional Planning and a Masters in Urban Design from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor in Landscape Architecture from the University of Florida.
